Helichrysum Italicum (Organic)
Origin: Bosnia Herzegovina
Type of plant: Bushy herbs with very small velvety leaves off long stems, each with a cluster of small yellow flowers. extracted by steam distillation.
Data: the flowers are comprised of dry bracts rather than petals and last a very long time-hence the name Everlasting or Immortelle. Listed as a medicinal herb in many Greek, Roman and medieval European texts. There are hundreds of helichrysum/immortelle varieties but few produce essential oil.
Properties: known as analgesic, anticholagogue, anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, cicatrizing, circulatory, diuretic, expectorant, hepatic, mucolyctic, spasmodic, stimulant, vulnerary.
Uses: known for pain, bruising, wounds, contusions, cough, bronchial congestion, rhinitis, abdominal cramp, muscular spasm, rheumatism, arthritis, carpel tunnel, tendonitis, edema, varicose reins, hemorrhoids, circulatory conditions, ulceration, acne, pimples, eczema, psoriasis.
Blends well with: Bergamot, chamomile roman, clary sage, frankincense, fragonia, geranium, grapefruits, juniper berry, lavender, lemon, sweet marjoram, niaoli, sweet orange, palmarosaravensara, rosemary, tea tree, thyme linalol, vetiver, ylang vylang
