Hi, my name is Nora and I’m a lawyer by profession and a crafter by passion. I make cold processed soaps and body care products. I make my own packaging and take my own product photos.

I started making homemade soaps and eczema cream in 2012 in my little kitchen because I wanted to sure what went on my skin. I was inspired by many things like the smell of fresh lavender; the kindness of Argan oil on my skin; the moisturizing olive soaps that put my old shower gel to shame; and by the healing properties of unrefined shea butter on my friend’s eczema.

iL Puro is a result of passion, research and a drive to create something good for me and the world around me. It is a result of admiration of ancient beauty secrets from east to west such as African skincare, Persian bathing, Greek beauty and Indian hair care.

iL Puro means ‘the pure’ in Italian and I source pure, sustainable and natural ingredients from all around the world, organic essential oils from hilly mountains of Provence to Atlas in Morocco to Somalia and Madagascar and to remote villages of Acheh, blended and bottled and packed in beautiful handwoven pouches made by women from the fishing villages in east coast of Malaysia.

iL Puro has grown from the support and encouragement of friends, family and customers. I have been selling online through Facebook since August 2012 and at market stalls in Kuala Lumpur bazaars since December 2013. From my humble little kitchen we have moved to a small soap studio to meet demand.

As born from passion for art, nature and healthy living, I try my best to give the best reasonable price for our products. After all, we should never compromise the health of the largest organ of your body.
