Origin: Indonesia
Native to the Moluccas and nearby islands; cultivated in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the West Indies, especially Grenada.
Herbal/Fold Tradition
Nutmeg is widely used as domestic spices in the East and West. They have been used for centuries as a remedy mainly for digestive. In Malaysia, they are used to strengthen and tone the uterine muscles. A fixed oil of nutmeg is also used in soap and candle making.
Aromatherapy/Home Use/blending
Musculoskeletal:
for muscle and joints inflammation blend with juniper, cypress, ginger, frankincense, lavender, lavandin, geranium, bergamot, clary sage, clove or sweet orange.
Wellbeing: enhance wellbeing and immune support, blend with basil, clove, frankincense, ginger, lime, lemongrass or patchouli.
Psyche: For stress or tension or sleep issue, blend with ylang ylang, black pepper, frankincense or patchouli.
USE:
for massage oil, add 3 to 7 drops of essential oil in 1 table spoon of carrier oil.
for diffusing- add with other above blending oils n drop altogether 8 drops for iL Puro small diffuser or 15 drops for Large diffuser.
Safety Data
Nutmeg is generally non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing. However, avoid used in large doses. Use in moderation, and with care in pregnancy
